18th Century English Jacobean Oak Chest of Drawers
Dimensions: 36 3/8″H x 38″W x 22 1/4″D
A stately solid oak, four drawer Jacobean chest of drawers from the later part of the 18th century, England. The nearly two hundred and thirty year old oak has obtained a stunning patina and has a deep, rich color. The four drawers are staggered in size and all retain their original brass hardware, with styled escutcheons and tear drop pulls. The drawers’ facades are styled with geometric paneling, a characteristically Jacobean attribute. The chest is lifted on shaped bracket feet that are incorporated into its shaped skirt. c.1790.
